Dixie Lee Junction

Now and Then

What a difference 50 years make! Above is the modern day Dixie Lee Junction now known as Interstate 24 and Exit 152 or Kimball Crossing. U.S.Highway 72 intersects what was U.S. Highway 64 (now Battle Creek Road). Pictured below is what the area looked like on January 7, 1951. The gas station on the left is where Sweetens Cove Road intersects with Highway 72. Stuckey's was located on the other side across the street from the Ka-Mar Restaurant.
